About
My love for music started at a young age- singing along to oldies in the back seat of my dad's Maverick with my two older sisters during family drives and listening to records on our old massive console-style turntable. One of my favorite 45's was Martha And The Vandellas' Dancin' In The Streets. I created many a mixtape and mix CD in my day and you could almost always find me in my room with the volume cranked singing and dancing along to the music. I've developed quite an eclectic taste in music over the years and appreciate many genres, but my favorite music is anything with a great beat that gets my body movin' and groovin'.
I first got turned on to Deus Entertainment by DJ LuRock- we had talked many times about music, mostly the really great older stuff, and he suggested I give The Morning Mix on Deus Entertainment Radio a listen. I instantly fell in love with the station and began posting about it to get my friends to listen in, too. It didn't take long for DJ Ice to take notice and reach out and start talking music also. When DJ Ice mentioned the idea of adding a female DJ to the lineup and offered to teach me the art, I simply couldn't pass up the opportunity both to learn something new and to have a creative outlet through music!
I wholeheartedly believe that there is a song for every moment in life- whether it be for the heavy bassline and instrumentals to get your body moving or the lyrics that relate to something that has happened or is going on in your life. Music is a form of therapy, pure and simple!
So here I am, DJ Ransom- taking the world hostage one mix at a time!
