About
Lew is a native of Waterloo, IA, and a graduate of The University of Iowa, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communication Studies. His professional work background is extensively broad and includes Leadership roles in Human Resources, Diversity Management, and Community Relations. He is currently the Associate Director of Diversity and Inclusion for The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
Lew has also served as a motivational and leadership expert and has taught and spoken at the local and national levels for HR and diversity-related work. Lew is probably best known as a standout student-athlete at The University of Iowa. At the same time, at the University of Iowa, he earned the freshman player of the year accolades, was named a co-captain, and earned All-Big 10 honors as a fullback during his tenure at Iowa.
Lew always enjoyed and had a passion for music, notably House Music. During his college years, he was instrumental in helping draw student-athletes to events hosted by Deus Entertainment and often purchased used equipment to practice his music passion. A life member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, he promoted Deus across all Divine nine organizations. Despite his busy athletic schedule, school, and community work, he partnered with other local DJs to strategize ways to enhance the Deus brand and is often at the table with Deus leadership to collaborate ideas.
After taking several years off from the profession to accommodate his family obligations, Lew resurfaced in 2018 and reconnected with Deus Entertainment to discuss future business concepts and is commonly known as DJ LuRoc.
