About
Music was always a part of the life for DJ Fluid; learning to play the piano, cello and drums early on. Late in high school, and then into his college years, he became fascinated with DJing and dance music, listening to all of the house masters with the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Steve 'Silk' Hurley, Bad Boy Bill, Fast Eddie, and Mr. Lee, as well as the legendary Masters at Work. He began learning to beat match and mixing in the late 80s and early 90s at a college radio station in St. Louis. Returning to his hometown in Iowa, he progressed to spinning at multiple clubs, house parties, and running a mobile DJ business. During this time, he also became friends with DJ Ice and B-Dub.
After spending several years away from the turntables, DJ Fluid reconnected with DJ Ice and B-Dub, reigniting his passion for house music. He continues to mix and produce music in his in-home studio in Minneapolis. His dance mixes are characteristically in the genres of deep house, 90's house, 90's club, and 90's R&B.
